A new program saves time-consuming research and calcula
There is hardly any designing engineer who has not been faced with the following situation:
All possible loadings have been calculated using expert software, the local stress of the structural component is very well known and now the question arises – which material shall be chosen for the structural component.
The software 'Material Selection Depending on Load Requirements' bridges the gap between calculation of the component and expert use of materials thanks to the scientific selection of materials in accordance with the linear-elastic material laws and following light-weight construction principles. A summary of the chosen and desired properties of the material is given in a table. Links are shown which indicate materials suppliers who have the chosen material and the calculated section ready for delivery. If they wish to do so users can immediately add the desired semi-finished material to the shopping basket of a suitable supplier.
In this way, the program generates a direct link between the designer and the materials supplier thus avoiding intermediaries.

Software "Material Selection Depending on Load requirements“

It is in particular the very wide but poorly systemised range of materials and the broad property profiles which make a proper selection of materials difficult for the designing engineer for an actual load-case and the intended practical conditions of application of the component profile.
The software-based material selection starts with the preliminary stress calculation of the structural part.
Further characteristics are selected step by step (e.g., endurance strength, corrosion resistance, weldability and heat treatability and also physical properties). As a result, the number of offered materials in the main and sub-groups of several categories is reduced and finally those materials are shown which fulfil all desired characteristics.
This software noticeably assists the designer with the scientific selection of materials without limiting the necessary creative aspects of this design work. Moreover, the user can be sure that the chosen material variants are actually offered on the market.

Conventional databases and reference tables cannot offer a service of this kind.

The software Material Selection Depending on Load Requirements calculates the smallest / lightest semi-finished product for a suitable material.
Since the user of this program is offered only such profiles and materials, which are actually available on the market, the concept of the software Material Selection Depending on Load Requirements clearly goes beyond the currently available databases and reference books.
Thus the user of this software can do without time-consuming research for suitable materials, profile data of the semi-finished product and material suppliers. The design engineer can spend the time saved for the creative design of structural parts and component groups. Consequently, this software gives the designer a head start on everyone else in the competition.
Given a sufficient number of participating material suppliers, the program offers the user several suppliers for one calculation result (material and profile with dimensions) who can deliver the desired semi-finished product.
This allows the designer to compare prices, delivery periods etc., in other words – he will find his favourite supplier.
You can use the Software "Material Selection Depending on Load Requirements“ at..

World’s first fully automated metro to operate in mixed running in Nuremberg
The inauguration of passenger service on Metro Line 3 of the Nuremberg transit authority (VAG) is truly a unique occasion. Not only is it the first fully automated subway to operate in Germany, during its introductory phase it will also be the first driverless metro in the world to share a section of line with conventionally driven trains. Known under its German acronym RUBIN (for the realization of an automated metro in Nuremberg) and developed by Siemens Mobility, this metro system was officially opened for service this past weekend by German Transport Minister Wolfgang Tiefensee.
